Oceans, a building that gets things moving

The Oceans building in Haarlem opened its doors in October of 2020. The new Impact Hub for working, eating and getting inspired.

Two years ago, Merijn Everaarts, the founder of Dopper (a manufacturer of sustainable water bottles), began searching for an inspiring workplace for his employees that would match the company's mission. This idea turned into a co-working space in the centre of Haarlem. During the year-long renovation of the building, every decision was made with sustainability in mind. Mama Gaia is located on the ground floor of the Oceans building. The restaurant serves exclusively plant-based meals inspired by the flavours of Mother Nature. The lower floor offers space to hold meetings as well as yoga lessons. Permanent and flexible workspaces are available for hire on the first, second and third floor. Dopper is the first company to move into the premises on the first floor.

Interstuhl has equipped the workspaces on this floor with NEW EVERY office chairs. The backrest mesh lends the chairs a semi-transparent look, letting them integrate nicely into the natural environment. The NEW EVERY is known for its ability to encourage movement, which fits perfectly with the Oceans concept. The NEW EVERY is also a shining example when it comes to sustainability and was therefore the first choice for the building.
